Asyst Technologies Announces 2-for-1 Stock Split


Fremont, CA, July 22, 1997 - Asyst Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: ASYT) announced today that its board of directors has declared a 2-for-1 stock split, to be effected by the distribution of a 100 percent stock dividend to shareholders of record on August 1, 1997.

Asyst's transfer agent will deliver the new stock certificates representing the additional shares on or about August 22, 1997.
